Who Forgot Skills & Knowledge

Despite the trend in favour of Behavioural Competencies, some sectors haven’t forgotten the value of skills and knowledge.

Most hospitals, for example, would take a competent surgeon over one whose behavioural attributes aligned with descriptions decided by a consultant-led committee. A similar respect for skills and knowledge still exists in the qualification for pilots, ship captains, aircraft engineers and lawyers.

Who Forgot Skills & Knowledge challenges organisations to spend less time and resources debating the semantics of values, competencies and behaviours, and concentrate more effort in ensuring that their competence framework delivers the right skills, knowledge and results.
